At Serenity Acres Farm, all of our goats enjoy their days outside in the sun and fresh air with plenty of grass, leaves and fresh hay to browse on. They pass on these wonderful elements in their sweet and rich milk, which we either keep pure, or turn into our fabulous chevre or fromage blanc cheeses after our Once-A-Day milking routine. We lightly salt the cheeses or season them with garlic and chives, smoked sea salt & shallot, or sundried tomatoes and basil, just to name a few. A mild feta completes the line-up of cheeses. One of our favorite products made from the goat milk is our goat milk yogurt. The yogurt is fermented for either 12 or 24 hours and then rests in the fridge for another 12 or 24 hours.

We uphold the rich flavor of our fresh goat milk by not using pasteurization and protect the flavor with strict sanitation measures. Though our milk, cheese, and yogurt are labeled “Pet food ingredient only, not for human consumption” in accordance with Florida State law and labeling requirements, we on the farm enjoy our goats’ milk and chicken’s eggs everyday, knowing that our animals have been raised without the regular use of antibiotics (though we treat our animals when they are sick), without the use of growth hormones, without the use of pesticides on our property, and most important of all, knowing that they have been raised with lots of love and hugs. Our goat kids are raised on their mothers and are not taken away at birth. The first four to six weeks the kids get all the Mother’s milk they want and need including the valuable colostrum. After that, when they are already eating solid food and hay, we start taking a share of the milk each morning until weaning time when we use all of Mom’s milk. Our farm is approved through the Animal Welfare Approved (AWA) organization, giving us the assurance that we continuously meet the highest standards of animal welfare.
